Abstract

This dataset comprises a total of 143 strontium isotope (87Sr/86Sr) analyses of archaeological rodents, along with a small number of fox and cat samples, from 45 different sites in the Netherlands, dating from the Neolithic to the Modern period. This dataset accompanies the paper by Kootker et al. (2016), which presented the first Dutch strontium isoscape. The samples originate from nearly all archaeological landscapes of the Netherlands, although the sample density varies considerably between different archaeological substrates. The northern region of the Netherlands (the boulder clay areas) and the southern region (De Peel in the province of North Brabant) are not represented.
