Abstract

This dataset accompanies the publication that applies a bioarchaeological framework to explore how mobility and ancestry shaped the social composition of the Roman military community Praetorium Agrippinae (Valkenburg, the Netherlands) along the Lower Rhine Limes. It comprises data from 77 individuals (29 inhumations and 48 cremations) dated to the Roman occupation of the settlement. The dataset includes: 87Sr/86Sr ratios , δ18O and δ13C values, and strontium concentration data ([Sr]). The data support investigation of mobility, ancestry, and demographic diversity within a Roman frontier community. All measurements were produced using established laboratory protocols and quality control procedures described in the associated publication.
