Abstract
With a total of 1 269 materials this dataset has 1 499 samples, 1 285 organic measures (δ13C & δ15N) and 781 mineral measures (δ13C, δ18O). It includes isotopic data compiled from 16 references inclusive of articles, books, and doctoral dissertations. The dataset brings together isotope analyses results from archaeological and modern samples located in Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, South Africa, Tunisia, Zimbabwe. Most of these studies focused on understanding the diet, food practices, subsistence, and weaning among the past populations.
