Abstract

These datasets represent some publications across the ancient Near East. Samples here are both human and non-human, and a variety of isotope systems were employed within these papers (i.e., δ13c and δ15N from bone collagen, 87Sr/86Sr, δ18O, and δ13C). The sites included in this dataset are: Pella, Sidon, El-Badari, Naqada, Hierakonpolis, Abydos, Qau, Saqqara, Mostegedda, Giza, Lahun, and Kharga Oasis. In addition to these sites, several animals from the Petrie Collection were analyzed, which have dubious/missing location information. A variety of research questions were centered in these publications, including questions about gender roles, migration, differential access to foods, and baseline building.
